The exhibitions The Museum's exhibitions frequently set up comparisons between the traditions and developments of the contemporary arts as found, on the one hand, in Italy and, on the other, in the various Germanic countries. One remembers such exhibitions as: Lucio Fontana and Arnulf Rainer; Gruppo N and Gruppe 0; Gappmayr, Nannucci, and Weiner; Abstracta: Abstract Art in Austria, Germany and Italy, from 1919-1939. Special attention is also paid to historical abstraction, as well as to the areas of contemporary art that lie along the borders between art and sound, art and writing, and so forth.
